Maggie Yesko is a freelance photographer and henna artist based in Central Pennsylvania. Her portfolio primarily consists of wedding, engagement, and boudoir photography, but you will find many miscellaneous subjects intermingled throughout.
Her photographic journey began in high school when she took a visual communications class to fill a space her schedule. It was there that she fell in love with the dark room, learning how to roll, process, and develop her own 35mm film and photographs. She went on to attend the Pennsylvania State University graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts concentrated in photography. Since then, she has used her roots in the area to not only grow her small business, but also to fuel her inspiration - often using the rural Central PA landscape to compliment her subjects and vice versa. Although she primarily shoots digitally, her heart will always remain in the dark room with film and tintypes.
In the summer of 2013 while attending Wanderlust yoga festival in Vermont, she received her first henna tattoo and immediately fell in love with the ancient art form. She went home determined to learn everything she could about henna art and now attends various festivals and conventions in the area and across the country adorning others with beautiful henna artwork. She also does parties and private henna sessions as well.
In 2016 she decided it was time to branch out more to work towards her dream of being able to make a living doing what she loved anywhere she went. Traveling often with camera and henna cone in hand, you can find Maggie jet-setting to various locations through out the U.S. (and soon internationally!) always eager to get new faces in front of her camera and hands adorned with her henna designs.
